Hi, I'm Allie—artist and owner at Few of a Kind Prints.
In 2015 I sought a creative outlet from my stressful corporate job. I registered for an evening printmaking course and discovered the therapeutic release of carving into a fresh lino block.
I started a side hustle, called Set Forth Studio, which moved with me from Montreal to Vancouver to Ottawa through life, relationship and career changes. In Fall 2019, I rebranded the biz to Few of a Kind Prints.
Today, Few of a Kind Prints is a Hintonburg-based art studio located in Makerspace North. I use traditional relief printmaking techniques to individually draw, carve, ink, and hand-pull each design (i.e. no mass-produced digital prints here).
Tastemakers on the hunt for original artwork for their design-forward homes may purchase my prints at a fraction of the cost of fine art pieces. On offer are open-edition prints for the budding collector, as well as limited edition and rare prints for seasoned collectors.
My artwork is inspired by my travels, pop culture, and nature (botanicals in particular). All subjects are interpreted in black and white for versatile interior styling.
